Radio Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technician to perform installation, maintenance and removal of electronic communications equipment, including but not limited to, 2-Way radios, MDT's, GPS tracking systems and supporting hardware into vehicles such as ambulances, rubbish trucks, heavy equipment and various commercial vehicles & buildings.

Qualified candidates will have three (3) years of experience as a low voltage technician installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of electronic equipment. The ideal candidate must have stereo, alarm, CCTV or other relevant low voltage experience, strong customer service values, and is eager to work as part of a team.

This position requires candidates to have a valid Class C California Driver's license and clean driving record as well as reliable transportation to/from work. A company service vehicle is provided for installations at customer locations out in the field.

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate hand and power tools regularly for installations of electronic equipment & occasional fabrications of control panels, cabinets, brackets, and mounting devices in a variety of heavy equipment, commercial vehicles & buildings.

• Occasionally required to work at mountain top sites servicing 2-Way radio repeater equipment, climbing towers to install cables and antennas, building maintenance, and brush clearing.

• Pulling & Terminating cable (RG-58, RG-213, Cat5e, Coaxial, and Other Low Voltage Cable Types)

• Assists in the maintenance, repair, and testing of communications electronics using a variety of procedures and equipment analyzing results to evaluate performance.

• Ability to sit, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, stoop for long periods of time.

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, work at heights, outside and confined spaces.

• Ability to get from one location to another in the course of doing business.

• Demonstrates and clearly explains to end users the basic operation of equipment installed.

• Keeps records of time and material used in performing duties.

• Maintains and reports an accurate inventory of materials both in service vehicle and stock room.

• Keeps assigned service vehicle and equipment maintained, clean and organized.

• Fill out forms and completes work orders in a legible manner.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Follow safety guidelines required by Radio Service, Inc and by our customer standards.
 

Qualifications:

• Relevant low voltage experience and strong customer service values.

• Ability to operate tools effectively, including but not limited to, drills, hammers, pliers, crimpers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, reciprocating saws, circular saws, band saws, grinders and soldering small components.

• Experience using wattmeter, voltmeter, service monitor.

• Excellent written & verbal communications skills.

• Ability to read and interpret documents accurately; such as work orders and service manuals.

• Communicates effectively and respectfully when interacting with customers, co-workers and all levels of management.

• Ability to adapt efficiently to changes & multiple task situations.

• Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Experience using Google suite of products; Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to work flexible hours; early morning, late evenings, and weekends. Overtime is available.
 

Requirements:

• Two Way Radio/Low Voltage Experience: 3 years

• Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.

• Must have a valid Class C California Driver's license & clean driving record.

• Reliable transportation to work.
